Our accountant referred us to a small but highly ambitious manufacturer seeking to substantially expand its activity in Europe and the Middle East. We met the business owners and the outgoing MD and secured the project. A tough search exercise which was as discreet as it was complex, netted a shortlist of strong candidates and after four second interviews, the client appointed a new sales Director who will play a vital strategic role in yielding the growth plans that underpinned this specialist project. ' I am Michael Haigh, recently retired and former Managing Director of Pland Stainless Limited, who are manufacturers and suppliers of commercial stainless steel products. Before retirement I agreed to take on the task of assisting in the recruitment of a Sales Director for the business, along with the owners Steve Duree and Ian Hodgson. This was to be a new position to help deliver and secure the current order book, follow a growth pattern for the next five years, and be responsible for the whole of the sales and marketing functions of the business.
