THREE friends who share a passion for motorbikes are set for a 24-hour 900-mile charity ride – calling at three Butlins holiday camps around the UK.
Paul Mulcock, Kevin Leonard and Tim Szoradi hope to raise at least £3,000 for Cancer Research UK with their Ride4Life trek taking in the Butlins centres at Skegness, Bognor Regis and Minehead.
They will set off from Munchies Café at Albert Street, Lockwood, at 9am tomorrow and aim to return at 3pm the following day when a fundraising party has been laid on at the nearby Lockwood Victoria pub. With the fun taking place from lunchtime for everyone to get involved.
That event will include an auction, a tombola, a bouncy castle, cake stall and entertainment by singers Sarah Jay and Steven Symon.
Paul, who lives at Slaithwaite, is managing director of executive search and selection company Broad Oak Solutions, with offices in the village while Kevin, of Birkby, is a qualified Driving Standards Agency motorbike instructor. Tim, of Meltham, has a hair salon in Slaithwaite and is also a singer.
The three fundraisers promoted their charity challenge and collected cash from shoppers in Huddersfield town centre yesterday where they were joined by representatives of Cancer Research and the Viaduct Street branch of Tesco, which has Cancer Research as its chosen charity.
